Today I was rejected from Illinois and Georgia. While my status at Delaware is still pending, I am going to assume it will be a rejection as well. I know I've said (constantly) that it was more likely I would be rejected than accepted... it still sucks ( Read more... )

Those schools honestly have no idea what they passed up. And that's not sympathy, it's just true.

thanks for the junk socking. As Weasel said, this just wasn't my year. I can look at other schools, and maybe find one a little closer (and warmer)

Ouch, that sucks. I wish they would allow PhD programs to start in the Spring too. I think some schools do, New Hampshire I think, but not many. But there's still time to find a teaching job, I know that Citrus College is looking for two full time English instructors and an adjunct Reading instructor. It's pretty cool college too (I went there!) I hope some how things work out for you!

thanks... I've been working on applying for a bunch of teaching jobs. Hoepfully one of those will come through. And I have at least 6 months to work on my applications for next year. I guess it's time to start studying for the GRE again

It was nice to hear that Hans & Franz (the leather twins from Albuqurque) spoke highly of at another conference. While their fashion sense is questionable, at least they like my work
