Seattle

So I am in Seattle now, visiting with Tyrnn and will attend rainfurrest this coming weekend.  While on the flight over, I lucked into mostly clear skies and was able to take some interesting photos of a large swath of the US from Cincinnati to Seattle.  I didn't get the rockies because they were shrouded in clouds, but I did get lots of before and ( Read more... )

It could also be an exctint glacial wash. It's definitely on the eastern slopes of the cascades since the mountains have so little vegetation of any kind. That's gotta be the Columbia River on the left, but where along it I'm not sure. I was tempted to say White Salmon, WA but that's on the western slopes, so you'd see a lot more trees. Judging by your probable flightpath I'm guessing it's somewhere near Yakima.

I always enjoyed flying into Portland because a lot of times the plane gets so close to Mt. Hood you swear the wingtip's brushing by the side of it. Haven't done that since the father in law's funeral though.
