I found that line to be extremely amusing.

I don't know how I feel. It's a very different interpretation of Nanjiroh and for that, I applaud you for it.

O.< I just don't see him that way; I'm glad I read this though.

Well...it's not really that I see Nanjiroh as a total bastard baddie, it's just what worked to make Ryoma so driven and antisocial. Though my view of Nanjiroh's fathering techniques is pretty poor, I don't think he goes round randomly beating him.
...I really do want to explore my other ideas for what drives Ryoma....maybe between Uni sessions...
