[Ficlet:] The Lovers (Howl's Moving Castle, Howl/Sophie) PG

I am exhausted. Thanks to everyone who wished me luck - the class tests (though I'm not supposed to call them that) went well, which is good. I don't know about the extra math placement though; a couple of the questions irritated me for reasons I won't bore anyone with. And they couldn't tell me when I'm going to find out whether I passed ( Read more... )

Oh! I really enjoyed this. The movie was wonderful - it was love at first sight. Miyazaki has such a way with fantasy - and I think you captured his essence very well here. Hope to see more of it! :3

I'm so thrilled that you liked it...ever since I saw the movie, Sophie and Howl's relationship has been eating my brain...there's just so, so much to it. Thank you very much!

Wow. I mean... this is the first time I've ever read someone who wrote a fic based on Miuazaki's films -- for I obviously don't look for such fics, which is bad -- and I absolutely love the way you describe Sophie and Howl's relationship... it *is* canon! welldone! :))

I haven't looked for any yet, either - I wanted my first attempt at writing this pairing to be free of any fandom influences, if that makes any sense? If I find any good ones, I will rec them here... *HUGS* Thank you so very much for your lovely comment - I'm so happy you enjoyed!

I think it's quite a good thing you didn't read any other 'Howl's Moving Castle' fics. :) the result is brilliant.
Now I think about it, I don't know if there're many fics from Miyazaki's films... I mean, for this very film.

Howl is gorgeous. *whispers* And for the record, I like the blond hair better. ^^;

So cute and fluffy!!!! I love the way you wrote Howl...*sighs* Perfect!

Is the book different from the movie? I must get a copy. Do I see a little influence from the book?

Was it just me or did the way Sofie constantly changed her looks throughout the movie confusing? Zoren kept asking me about that and I haven't got an answer that satisfies him. And exactly when did Calcifer break her curse? Was that explained in the book?

Does anyone else care besides me? *laughs*

*glomps* Thank you. ♥ Yes, the book is VERY different...extremely different...although, somehow, in the wierdest way, I really feel Miyazaki was true to the heart of the books.

Watching the movie, I pretty much just figured Sophie's looks changed as she allowed herself to feel her love for Howl.

Sophie's curse was broken completely differently in the book. In some ways the book made more sense, in other ways, less - I need to re-read the book to go back and put some extra pieces in place.

I absolutely recommend the book - it's every bit as lovely as the movie.

*snuggles and goes back to writing fic*

This was truly sweet. Very romantic. What's going on, dear? :)

I've only watched the movie, but I liked it a lot, the anime style fit it so incredibly well.
