I was rather resolutely not going to read in this fandom. I was just going to be content to be giddy over everything. And then you posted this. I love that they turned into statues.

I am so bad with this whole temptation thing. *shifty eyes* Last night I thought 'I kind of want to write about Castiel'. And then I pleaded for someone to save me from myself, and then my friends were no help at all. Alas.

Save you from yourself? Hell, no - you should totally write about him. Often. It can only be good for you. *g*

This is lovely. I'm just catching up on a lot of episodes now, but I know enough to understand what's going on. This was a great read, and well, love it! :D

Oh, I have a long way to go to catch up, and I'm doing it kind of at the same time as watching the current eps. *checks clock* Hee.

I'm not one for SPN fic, and I'm resolutely anti-shippy in the fandom (mainly because most of the shippers terrify the living hell out of me, but w/e).

That being said, this is one of the most beautiful fics I've ever read, in any fandom, period. The descriptions of the angel statues were beautiful without being diabetes-inducing, and you described the various sorts of pain different people went through without being pitying or overdramatic. I really did enjoy this, and I hope I happen to see more of your stuff along these lines.

LOL - this fandom can be a very scary place. :)

Thank you. It means a great deal for you to say that - I was pretty wildly out of my comfort zone writing this, and I'm so glad it worked for you!

Ooh, this is lovely. Such a cool premise and you executed it perfectly. Loved Dean's reluctance about being in thrall to another supernatural being - quite understandable, really, and all the more hurty for it. I'm v glad he got over it. :)

The old lady is god, yes? I liked her. :D

Oh, this was fantastic! I was going to make a short list of things I loved here, but it kept growing and growing, so it'll be a bit longer of a list!

∗ I loved the premise of the story and how you handled it. Not only was the imagery very pretty, but the pacing of the story (by finding one statue and then building more clues, until Cas could be found) was great.
∗ Much love for appearances by Bobby, as well as Ellen and Jo!
∗ Great characterizations! I especially loved this line Cloud porn. Even Dean's dreams were awesome. because not only was the content completely Dean, but even the rhythm of the words sounded exactly how he would say them.
∗ Loved the notes about music throughout. (It was just like watching an episode!)
∗ I adored the backstory for Rashid's reasons for helping them and it made my heartache.
∗ The old woman in the back of the church is totally made of win. ♥
∗ And, of course, much love for Dean/Castiel.

Okay, I think that's everything... I really enjoyed reading this story!

I was so happy to get such a wonderful prompt - and thank you especially because pacing is one of my hugest story kinks, so hearing it worked for you made me grin like a maniac. :D

*Hugs* Thank you so much!
