My power supply's fan has been giving me an occasional grinding sound, but now has started clicking. It's still running and it doesn't seem to be hot, but it isn't running as fast or steady...*sigh* It has me paranoid, and it's not a good time for me to have to replace things. No cash and all.

The day just got less groovy.

I'm not sure what the deal with the clicking is unless you've got fan blades striking something... like wiring or a grille. Those fans usually fail in the bearings, which may be the grinding sound you were hearing. They can usually be rejuvenated a bit by working some oil into the bearings, but that is really just a stopgap until you can get a replacement fan. You might get as much as a year out of it. Maybe. You might have to do it periodically.
