More Backstory

Like this one before, I ended up typing a good proportion of a background story for one of the supporting characters, in this case for Project Homuncupunk. Presumably this is easier for me to do because it's a discrete element rather than an ongoing story-although in this case it's a character who was actually connected with a lot of others even back then, so her origin story has a lot of tie-ins to other plot and character elements that you'll never see unless I figure out some way to publish the series.

In terms of content, I ended up throwing in a lot of goofy stuff, which is rather unfortunate because (a) it doesn't fit with my usual extreme violence, which starts about halfway through; and (b) I don't have a sense of humor, so it's quite pathetic. It's hard to make scenes of actual human(oid) interaction, because I don't have much experience with it myself. I've said from the beginning that I'm not trying to make things the least bit realistic-it's supposed to be a fantasy according to my tastes-but the result is something rather weird and alien, and I'm afraid I'm going to get lambasted for it.

Anyway, I've only finished the first two scenes (and only a first draft of those, too), so I'll have to avoid making comments that require you to have already read it. Hopefully I've managed to get you to notice this. It seems like some people are actually reading things that I've posted, but it's hard to tell.

Edit: The beginning of the draft is noted here.
