Durn Burn It
For some reason, it took me until I was reading this interview (spoilers) to realize that my two leads in Project AnthraXX have altogether too much in common with those of STRANGERS IN PARADISE-Ms. Canina's mob background, combat skills, and promiscuity; and Ms. Brown's reluctance due to religious upbringing and "good-girl" nature. I use them in very different ways, but I doubt that the similarities would be missed (despite the fact that I hadn't noticed before) if I ever managed to get AnthraXX published. And these are all details that I had decided before I had even heard of the earlier series. This makes my idea of using certain elements from it in different ways sound even more like plagiarism. . . .
