what's in a name?

someone on one of the social media things i go to said that some names of furniture would make interesting kids names. so, i went with it.

girl names
credenza: works in publishing, academia, or fashion.
divan: lounge singer.
candelabra* (nicknamed candi): is the leader of her social set no matter where she is, school, church or a country club. trophy wife.
cellarette: ballet dancer, or model.

*i know, not furniture.

boy names
davenport (daven for short): comes from old money. if he works, he works in banking, law, or an investment firm.
chifforobe: plays polo, or golf.
armoire (nicknamed armi): is either a sculpture or a painter. but no one can figure out what it's supposed to be.
ottoman (otto for short): career military man. general patton is his hero. not sure about allowing women in the military.

when i mentioned this to my brother he said some names of fabric would make interesting kids names.

girl names
gingham (nicknamed ginny): country girl. works on a ranch, or as a country vet.
organza: ballet dancer, or model. possibly an art teacher in a private school.
satin: either an exotic dancer, or people think she is and she's really a pharmacist.
taffeta (nicknamed taffy): mom to everyone. always has a table at the craft fair. can be counted on to make something for the church/school bake sale.
calico (cali for short): not very smart. swimsuit model.

boy names
brocade (cade for short): auto mechanic. never call him "bro", he hates it.
tweed: if he's a biker or plays sports, he is called T. if he's a hippy, he's called weed.
twill: twin of tweed. if he's a biker or plays sports, he is called "T too". otherwise he goes by will.
damask: professor of either literature, archeology, or the classics.
suede (ed for short): owns a bike shop.
linen (lin for short): chef or baker.
