I'm kinda concerned, if McCain wins the nod and the presidency ,are we getting McCain from 2000, who actually made sense and told the neocon base to go screw, or are we getting the Bush-ass-sniff crony he's turned into?

Just because they are in the same party, I wouldn't lump him in with Bush. No one is as absurd as Bush.

I'm not - I was actually thrilled he might run again two years ago. It's just when he started parroting Bush in the past two years that I got worried.

I -liked- McCain in 2000. voted for him at that point.

Not so sure anymore.

She's right, unfortunately. The only thing sadder than McCain's "sell out and latch firmly onto Bush's posterior.... oops, it's campaign time, time to be a maverick again" routine is the fact that it actually seems to be working. I think it speaks pretty strongly to the current state of the Republican party. (That's not a slam, btw. It's an observation that Republicans don't really seem to have anyone they love.)
