Music prompt ficlets!

Here's the second (third?) batch of music ficlets! It was interesting, writing different pairings and characters and trying to make them fit the songs.. I might try the challenge again later! Many, many thanks to mithen who helped me with the beta and with the actual sittind down to write process :)

Whee! Eddie!

Well, first Harv. I love the way your Two-Face protects and loathes the things worth protecting in Harvey. And the way he knows things, like Gotham rogues often should know things.

Then Booster. So sad to be out of time. Or lost in time. Or whatever... but so nice to have found a moment in all that time with a wonder like Babs.

Then Clark and Selina. I love that Selina is marking the same territory that Clark is trying to mark. It is her city now. For the moment.

And Eddie. Stuck on the riddle that has no answer. The mystery of the soul and the heart. Constantly changing, that one. Just when you think you have the answer, the question changes.

Yay! so glad you liked Eddie's piece! When you posed the possibility of a riddle that was flawed from the start, I couldn't think of any... beyond things that have no answer! so.. given my lack of riddle expertise, I had to play it safe :P

I love Two-Face to death, as you know, so I just can't conceive that Harvey couldn't tell between Dick!Batman and Bruce!Batman. Not *Harvey* you know? but he can be of two minds, so... it was very nice to play with them, sad bastards as they are.

Booster and Barbara made some weird sense after talking with Jen! I'm glad it worked out :P they were fun! especially Babs, she's.. very in control of herself at all times, she's cool to write.

And Clark and Selina, lol, gave me a headache. But marking territory and cruising for snark were the only ways for me to write that story! I'm glad it made sense in the end!

They are my doomed OTP of doom. Bruce won't give Harvey up, and Harvey just can't hold it together for long periods of time, it's terrible!!! why???? BOYSSS. Bruce is T_T whenever Harvey shows up and does something Harvey-esque.

I will stop being awesome as we speak. As in... now!

Eeee, these are all so wonderful, but you know how I love Clark out cruising for snark, and Selina so fierce and grieving... *sigh*

I think one of my favorite lines, though, is Barbara's matter-of-factness about hotel showers sucking. No self-pity, it's just a fact of life. Booster is very sweet and lonely and fun in that one, as well--Babs/Booster probably shouldn't work, but I think you found a good space for it there! (And Rip as a Bat works very nicely, lol!)

Clark cruising for snark was funny and weird to write! he misses Bruce telling him to go away and being self contained and not needing help and being snarky... Selina is so awesome! I. I wanted to write the 'Cir-El is Selina's daughter' story but I couldn't! Bruce and Lois were all WE DON'T LIKE TO SHARE. :/

I'm glad you liked Babs line about the hotel! I think they are just.. lousy places to shower in general. Babs really kicks ass, so I love it when she takes thing in one stride :) And I don't know how we managed to make Booster/Babs make sense, but in my head now it does! I prefer it over Babs/Dick FOR REASONS PERHAPS UNKNOWN :P haha. +snugs+ Thank youu for helping me with them!

Heeee, you took a difficult Booster prompt and filled it with awesome! The final line totally made it. Booster still is, really, totally dense. :P And Babs! Babs would be happy knowing she spawned the future king of the time streams (but it would make Rip's mission for Booster to save her that much more bittersweet). Thank you so much for writing my prompt! :D

ETA: I love the Clark and Selina one too! I. love. your Catwoman voice. She's so strong and self assured. :D

I was agonizing over the song Booster got but in the end I kind of ended loving Booster/Babs! Gordon as a grandpa of Rip! haha, and Rip being batty X) and. And. Booster being adopted by the Birds and the Bats. It shouldn't delight me to much X) And yeah, his mission to save Babs :( but. I hope Rip goes a mom half as cool as Babs.

Glad you liked the Clark and Selina one! a pairing that gives me trouble, that one. Lois and Bruce don't like sharing Clark! And Selina is like 'yeahhhh, I'm not going to swoon over you, big guy.' I love Selina to dead <3 <3

The King is dead, long live the King - Bruce/Harvey:
"These drugs are better than I thought," Harvey said lowly, his voice thick with sleep. "It's been a while, stranger."
"It has, Harv. How's my favorite heartbreak doing?"
I liked this moment of reunion of them two.

"He was okay. But... you're an old fox, angel. It's been a long time since he could get you like that."
Very well said! "an old fox, angel" - that was nice.

He tried to tell himself that a handful of hours were better than no Harvey at all. "What did he think?" He hated asking about Two Face. He hated Two Face. He loved Harvey. He too was a man broken in two.
I loved to see how much Bruce wanted to help Harvey. And his understanding for him.

"You stopped coming. I could never believe that you were okay but had decided to stop." He tightened his hold on him. "You wouldn't stop."
That was perfect! And true! Bruce would never stop.

Bruce nodded, then leaned forward, his lips brushing Harvey's temple. "Not while there's hope." He straightened up and smiled at Harvey,

Aww! thank you! so glad you liked the Bruce and Harvey one, I'm so fond of it :3 I love the pairing a lot, they are so tragic and sad :( Bruce just doesn't give up on Harvey and Harvey can never hold it together for long.. it just breaks my heart.

I had fun with the Booster/Babs one, it's such a crack pairing.. but I kind of liked it! And I love writing Babs, she's so no-nonsense! she and Selina I love writing to death, both share that 'oh no you don't' vibe :D Selina and Clark were missing Bruce so much! I can't quite pair them together but I think they have an interesting dynamic.

And Eddie! He's so smart and writing him is always a challenge, trying to get a hold of him. I'm glad his ficlet worked! I love Eddie/Harley :D
