For icarus_chained, a belated gift fic for her birthday! I have been watching JLAnimated again and I love J'onn's uncertainty, his alienness and his gentle manners... and, you know, how much ass he kicks in the field. Yay J'onn! He has such a wonderfully warm dynamic with Clark in the show, I love it :3

J'onn and Clark are so lovely together in JLU, so...warm and understanding. Clark has so much to teach him as a fellow lost (and last) alien, and you capture that easy friendship and affection so well here!

I have a desert plant in the kitchen that is dyingggg! I am so sad! the need barely any care, and yet I cannot keep it alive! me and my mom are a disaster with plans. I guess you and me, like Bruce, are more of the metaphorical gardener kind :P

I love the J'onn/Kal vibe in JLU. They are so adorable together! And Kal is really J'onn's rock a lot of the time, which I find very comforting and heart warming. I love that J'onn has someone to turn to that understands and can give a helping hand. Of course, Bruce had to rear his batty head here... he's not comfortable with Kal being pre-slashy with other people! silly Bruce :P

Aww, this was cute! I've always thought that their relationship was the most interesting on that show and in the comics and their time together is unique. I kinda wonder sometimes how their relationship would be had he never gotten involved with Batman and was never interested in Lois Lane... they seem like they could be a great pair.

Thanks, Tina! I really like JLA/JLU's J'onn/Kal dynamic, they are really sweet and J'onn is very tentative and lonely... he plays really beautifully to Kal there. I really like their slashy vibe in the show, but my Bruce-muse wasn't very happy about Kal being pre-slashy with someone else, lol.

Thank you, Star! I love that animated J'onn is so new to Earth in JLA/JLU. It gives him a different outlook on humans and life than on comics, and you can definitely see him grow as a character on the show. And the J'onn/Kal is so adorable in it!

Bruce insisted on showing up. He doesn't like Clark being paired with other people :P

J'onn is such an underrated/underused character. Maybe it's all the reworkings DC had done, or... something. But he's one of my favorite things about animated JLA/JLU.

This fic, in addition to just being plain cool, also makes me seriously want to get out and tend my yard. (Too bad it's still sleeting and hailing here almost every day. @#$%!)

J'onn is a fantastic character, but he can be daunting.. though, I think he's also flexible enough to allow a lot of stories to be told, so it's a bit odd that he's so underused even in canon. I loved him so much on JLA/JLU, I got introduced to comics with it and he's definitely one of the high points of the show.

I'm glad you liked the fic! I'm not much of a gardener myself, but I love sitting on the grass when it's sunny.. so I guess I ought to tend to it so I won't be swallowed by the weed. I hope the sleeting and hailing has stopped! sunny days for everyone!
