FINALLY.

Yes, there's still a ton they have to do and it's not really a permanent solution yet and we still have a long ways to go before this ordeal is completely finished (long, long ways, if the Exxon-Valdez spill is anything to go by) but FINALLY.

Seriously, about f'ing time. The only downside I've read is that that cap has the possibility of cracking from too much pressure. Let's hope that's not the case.

IKR? BP really dropped the ball here, and I reckon that's one of the understatements of the year.

I hope it holds at least long enough for the relief wells to get drilled or whatever the next step is. And then I want stricter safety protocols and more shit to happen if those protocols are violated. >(

:D I saw that today and I was like "Hooray!" It's just sad that the effects from it are going to be around for ages and it has already done so much damage to the environment and the region's economy. I live like 5 minutes from the beach here in Florida and I haven't been since we started getting the tar balls washing up. I just don't want to see it ruining something that was so beautiful before all this shit happened.

Ugh, yes. It's so sick and disgusting. The Exxon-Valdez spill is still fucking with the environment, so I can only imagine how much of a nightmare this spill is going to be.
