MY EYES /Weep

Nov 04, 2011 00:35

Next person to tell me this isn't some kind of allergy will be harshly glared at and asked to step on many legos in the night (especially if they don't offer me some sort of explanation as to why my eyes feel like they're about to shrivel up). >(

(No, seriously: my eyes are burning right now, just like they do whenever I put on any kind of eye ( Read more... )

I WOULD SKIP IT, but I feel like I need to find a solution somehow. I'd like to be able to make my eyes pretty for job interviews and things, and that does mean I need to find a way to cope. I'll just haul along some wipes and if I start feeling miserable I'll take it off and eye-drop the hell out of my eyes.

I think there are some brands that make eye makeup designed for people with allergies. I can't remember the names though. Have you tried those?? Are there any other things that trigger eye allergy reactions for you?

If it lasts over the weekend maybe go to the doctor and see what they have to say. It might be an eye infection of some kind. My friend had one once that sounded pretty awful.

I have been looking! I know Neutrogena and Almay make hypoallergenic makeup, so I'll be investing in something out of those brands soon. Unfortunately, most of those brands don't make the costume makeup I need for this weekend, so my options are limited in the short term. D:

So far, no. And as far as reaction goes, I think it's still really mild - my eyes slowly start to feel incredibly dry, and no amount of blinking or anything makes them feel properly moist again. If I take the makeup off soon enough it's usually okay and they only stay feeling that way for a few hours, but the longer I push it the longer they feel drier than usual.

I'm a little worried it might grow into something worse, though, so I want to start looking for solutions and answers now, before something goes wrong and it turns into something worse - like an eye infection. D:

Eugh yeah, I can see where costume makeup would be tricky.

I hate eye allergies. It's bad enough when it's just the low-level itchy and dry I get from cats or dust. But I've had one eye just about swell shut when cat hair got into it. And my hay allergy is TERRIBLE. It seriously felt like someone took handfuls of the hay and crammed it under my eyelids, and I looked like I had been crying for about 800 years because my face and eyes got so red and puffy.

Have you tried Visine A eye drops? They work wonders for me. I'm not sure how they'd be for makeup related problems if you're still wearing it, but maybe it's worth a try.

Hypoallergenic eyeshadow isn't as expensive as I thought it would be, so if that's the only thing that gives you an allergic reaction, you should be cool!

Though, if you take an allergy pill, it should help combat whatever for however long we're there?

I SWEAR SOME EYESHADOWS ARE NOT FITTING FOR RAT POISON. Or so my eyes tell me. You're not alone.
