In one of my high school English classes, we were reading a play, and there was one line that had a 1 instead of an l.

Everyone else was like, "Huh?" and I was like, "ONE INSTEAD OF EL!!!!!!!!!!!"

Argh, I think I've had that happen once. In ways I know it's not a huge deal, but it's one of those mistakes that nags at me and takes me out of the story so totally. ;_;

Ughhh that always throws me off. That, and when there are typos/misspellings in books. Especially books that are on their 7th or 8th printing. It makes me wonder what the damn editors are getting paid for >:(

YES TYPOS. I remember when I found my first typo - the word "green" had an extra 'e' in it. I spent like, half an hour looking at it and counting the 'e's 'cause I was afraid I was getting it wrong, then I started a list for typos. :D

But it is annoying. Thankfully I have been spared too many encounters with typos/misspellings.

:\ :\ :\ I know how does this stuff happen. I bitch about typography all the time now and I shouldn't...
but seriously, people, if you're going to make a sign, get someone who can make your sign look good. Lucinda Hand just doesn't cut it sometimes, especially when you've done no work with the leading or kerning.
Actually, I don't know if Lucinda Hand ever cuts it. But. That's another rant.

OR COMIC SANS.

For the record if I ever get anything not written/typed by a five year old or meant for a five year old in comic sans I am screaming until I shatter the universe.

THANK YOU FOR AGREEING WITH ME ON THIS. My mother is under the impression that there are appropriate uses of Comic Sans. I keep trying to convince her that she is wrong. (She doesn't work with five-year-olds).

YES. I will also accept Comic Sans if a dyslexic person requests that I use it (I've read that it is easier for people with dyslexia to read), but otherwise?

Noooooooooooooo.

I tend to find it more in clumps of pages - which makes sense given how books are printed - but every now and again I'll find paragraphs that look like they got more ink than the rest of the page, and it changes the entire look of the typeface.

(I had this with a book I finished just yesterday. Took me almost fifteen minutes of looking at individual letters before I figured it WAS the same typeface, just...parts were wrong.)
