[ Madoka didn't really know how she felt about being back here. She was 22 now, grown a rather pretty young woman. Her hair was a bit longer than that of her twelve-year-old-self. She'd been wandering through the city, lost in thought, refreshing her memory of what it'd been like, as she heard the singing.
This little boy looked familiar to her, but she couldn't quite put a finger on it right now. It'd all been so long ago..
She offers him a smile and a little greeting wave though ]

[Francis is much more preoccupied picking pretty flowers, and stuffing them into his overly large pocket. But once he sees the movement of her wave out of the corner of his eye, he stops, and stares straight at her for a moment.

Then, he laughs and waves (quite emphatically) at this now-adult Madoka. She seems very nice and Francis always loves to make new friends.]

Bonjour, bonjour mademoiselle! [But, he can't forget to be more polite, so he pulls up his shirt hem a little so that he can bow properly (almost a curtsy, under that tunic/dress of a shirt.]

[ Madoka can't help but giggle a little. No matter how mature she might be now, that was just cute. Even if her knowledge of French was just as lacking as it had been ten years ago. Then again, it brings back some more memories. This kid really looked vaguely like Francis...
She goes down to her knees to talk to him from the same height and smiles some more ]

Hello. Are you having fun?

[He drops his hem and starts twirling a bit in his shirt, so that the hem spins out.]

Mais oui! I am picking pretty flowers. I am going to make them into a crown! And then I will make crowns for everyone else!

there is a squeaky yell coming right at you! and a small bundle of blond hair tackles France to the ground]

[Francis finishes his song, and then continues by repeating the song, from the beginning:]

Ah! Vous dirai-je Maman, ce qui cause mon tourment? [He stoops down to pick another flower or two and shove them in his pocket, still singing.] Papa veut que je raisonne...[And then, he hears the rustle. And then the yelp. Francis turns around sharply, only to be tackled into the grass. He lets out a little 'oof!' as he hits the ground, and looks up at someone who is familiar to him, his dear little England.]

Angleterre! We were playing a game?

[once France stops moving, England sits up and grins widely. he doesn't know what town they are in, but he's not as concerned about that right now]

You should always be prepared! [aside from a squeaky voice, his speaking is very rough English, almost German] You never know when your enemies will strike!

Mais, Grand Frère is always prepared. [A small laugh as he scoops his arms around Iggy and just picks him up. Enemies? What silly nonsense are you talking about, Angleterre?]

[Well this very small charge snuck out of the house when Joan wasn't paying attention, because it was a lovely day outside and... frankly he was terrified of the large metal objects in the kitchen. He recognized the spoons but never were spoons made out of metal. To him it had looked more like a torture chamber... as if the room he had woken in had not been built to resemble a torture chamber anyway.

He hears the woman's voice and looks up at here again, smiling happily at her. She was such a kind woman, so willing to watch over him. Francis didn't quite understand all her words - what about being an adult? And how did she know his name? But her aura was so warm, he could not resist being friendly to her.]

Look at how many I have, mademoiselle! [And he fished all of them out of his large pocket, dropping his compact in the grass again, and shoving the large handful (for his hands, anyway) of flowers towards her.]

[And have a little nation nodding emphatically in her.] Oui, oui! I have been out here ever since I woke up, and made sure not to wake up les monstres. [Yes, he thinks the kitchen appliances are monsters. Have fun explaining that one to him.] I see you did not wake them up either!

[And he's picking another flower to gently place behind your ear, hope you don't mind.]

[Byakuran's french is nowhere near as good as his japanese. But he remembers enough to have something of an understanding of what is being said. He opens a video feed, mostly out of boredom and partly because.

Well, little kids shouldn't really be out on their own like this.]

Bonjour, petite ami. Pourquoi êtes-vous par vous-même ?

[Francis suddenly hears someone speaking to him, but he's not sure where the voice is coming from. It's not evident from the video, but he's twirling around in the real world to see if there is a voice. But when Byakuran continues speaking, Francis hears it coming from his pocket. He slowly pulls out the compact, looking at it again, and gasping when he sees a face on the screen. He speaks to the voice in French.]

You can talk! Are you an enchanted mirror?

I wanted to play outside. There were terrifying things inside, so I ran away.

so cute ;u; still video! aailes November 18 2011, 19:27:56 UTC
[Byakuran pauses; processes the words and then processes his response. Tries to remember the grammar and the correct formation of words, and then again in a way a child will understand.

All the while, he smiles and hopes it's a little bit comforting. Or something.]

Not quite~. The mirror certainly is special though, isn't it? I'm communicating with through it~!

But, you said there were scary things, hm~? Are you alright?

[Francis does seem to be comforted, because after a moment or two he's beaming.]

Are you a wizard, sir?

[But then he gets all excitable again as he tells his story.]

Yes, yes! They are big monsters, bigger than me, with gleaming armor like knights! And they must live with a rich giant. I think the giant eats noblemen and then steals their lands.

[He hears the young voice and looks up, then gives her a polite smile and a bow (which, considering the size of his shirt, actually might be classified more as a curtsy).] Bonjour!

I'm going to make a crown out of flowers. Il sera très joli. [He meant, "it will be very pretty", but he hasn't realized he's switched from English to French.]

Et vous? Que faites-vous? [He meant "What are you doing", but she might be able to figure it out from context.]

[Kesley just tips her head, kind of confused, both as to what Francis is saying and why he's making a crown out of flowers]

Why're you doing that?

petitfleurdelis November 16 2011, 04:15:48 UTC
... [Well, that's something Francis has to think about for a moment.] Because I think it is fun. The peasants do not seem to mind. And they like the crowns I give them. It makes me happy, to make my people happy.

That and it gives me something to do while I try to figure out where I am.
