I don't think that counts as trolling because I'm pretty sure the only person you're upsetting is yourself.

I know you feel ganged up on, because in effect that's what's happening, but I don't think that's what anyone's trying to do. It seems to me like just the composite effect of several individuals who disagree with your opinions all voicing their opinions at the same time, most of them civilly. That's how internet discussion works. Admittedly, some people on the forums are being pretty jerkish about the whole thing, but they're in the minority. The community as whole is just trying to have a conversation

Perhaps you summed it up well. I think it's because well; when you have strongly opposing views with friends I just feel that tension there, and it's like they lost respect from me.
