1) Well, Jack's interest in/attraction towards Gwen does seem to wax and wane from ep to ep. I think a lot of what gets him about her is simply that she doesn't give in to his charm. Jack is so not used to wanting someone and not being able to have s/h/it. The other thing is obviously the whole "walking moral compass" thing she's got going on. You know what irked me about this season though? That the two biggest moments of emo-porn we got between Jack & Gwen were both cheats. The first was towards the end of "Adam" when Gwen says, "I love Rhys, but not the same way that I love you" - and then they take Retcon and neither of them remembers it! The second was in "Something Borrowed" with the "I never expected to meet someone like you/you're not the only one whose world was knocked out of orbit" exchange. Shortly after this it turns out it's Shapeshifting AlienMom, not Jack at all. So somehow we're supposed to feel as if more ground has been covered than the writers really earned, methinks
