There are some entries on here which I haven't made 'friends only' or 'private' so that my daughter, who is not a member, and a very good friend interstate, who also is not a member, can read. They were also able to comment

No idea who u are referring to but u can choose to screen comments from those that arent friends, which means u get the email and u then respond to unscreen so others can see... ask mare, she can explain to you she has hers set that way. that way you can delete or ignore those you wish to.
yeah, that's what I had. Friends weren't screened and non friends were. This person just doesn't get it. I don't want his 'knowledgeable' advise. Told him last time.
He's a person on one of the mailing lists that's always going on about 'Studies in the USA' and always giving detailed medical information, yet, he is not a doctor, and doesn't work in the field , and from what i've read, hasn't been able to get or hold a job in about 10 years. Many years ago I told him that his 'Studies in America' weren't really relevant to a lot of life in Australia. He's a know it all. I blocked his previous lj name and now he's come up with another one. Both came from the same ip address.
So now, only friends can comment, all others are blocked. I shouldn't have to do things like that on MY own journal, but there's total idiots out there in cyber world and i suppose that's the price you pay for having an online journal :)
Yes it is, dont forget its a public domain. Anybody can be reading and most probably are, especially those you dont want to :-) Only put out there what you dont care if your worst enemy knows. The rest, lock.
Just get ur friends to make their own dummy accounts, some people have accounts to comment but dont journal themselves.

I have suggested that they open up their own free account, but well, they'd just rather read what's there for all to see.
Now that only friends can comment, I don't care who reads it, but I won't be bothered by their comments anymore :)
