Exhibit A: Week Four: Ultra-Deep Field

Alright, so, looking at the topic this week, my first thought was football. I think it was the "Field" bit that led to that connection. You know. I understand your enthusiasm. I remember way, way back when Voyager got close enough to Neptune to send back pictures. Voyager was expected to die in the asteroid belt near Mars, but it made it through, got a little reprogramming, and kept going.

We spent a couple of hours watching the Neptune images on PBS. The incredible, beautiful blue of the planet was like every piece of mythology ever invented around that god.

I honestly can't remember clearly when that happens, but that could be due either to my mother turning up her nose at such things (if she doesn't understand something, it fails to be worth her memory), or from the lapses in memories around that time. Of course, now that you've mentioned it, I must go look it up. Gah! *grin*

A warp drive would be pretty cool. Getting to explore space more widely... and I agree, there must be life elsewhere in the universe.

It makes the nerd in me happy. :) I get so impatient when I think about it though; I can't help it! Science moves too slow these days.

Yeah, my kind of sports weren't offered at my school. Horseback riding, archery, fencing...yep, none there. Shame, that..

Your wonder as a child has not left you. I think the older we get, the more there is to wonder at and about!

I agree! I think it's always a good thing to remember that kind of base curiosity and not get too caught up in the details whenever possible, at least not to the expense of either. Gives a much more fascinating view of things. I'm never bored. :)

Oh, topics. The first thing that came to mind with this topic is something I can't write about because it's work-related and confidential. It was really hard to come up with something else! :P

Haaaaaah you've got to love those. This one wasn't really that easy (and it looks like it'll boot me this week for sure), but I was happy with it in the end. Took me a good bit though, really. I'm glad you came up with something else in the end as well.
