Summary: Jun is a super model, and Aiba is his rival, well sort of. He's kind of in love with Aiba, but he doesn't know that.
Note: Hi! I've wanted to write a model!Junba fic for the longest time, and this challenge finally gave me an excuse to do it. Written for the
A Kiss, And All Was Said challenge, enjoy :)
Aiba and Jun are rival models but the only ones who actually thinks that way is the media and their companies. Jun thinks Aiba's model persona is just as stoic and cool as his, and that gap from his real self is so nice that he falls in love with Aiba more everytime he sees him. Aiba's smile lights up his life, and without it Jun doesn't know how to live anymore.
Of course, Jun isn’t really that close to Aiba either. They’re friends...kind of, more like acquaintances according to his manager, Nino, who also makes fun of him for it because “Aiba is an idiot who looks good in ugly things, don’t be fooled J” And it was true, sometimes Aiba acted so airheaded, Jun honestly worried for him, and the clothes he had to wear were ugly. But he wore them so well, that during those rare moments Aiba actually wore good clothes Jun had to excuse himself and flee to the bathroom for various reasons. Jun also thought that Nino was maybe too judgmental of Aiba, because he had seen Aiba model before. And he was was one of the best around, maybe that’s why everyone saw them as rivals. Aiba’s stride as he walked was so elegant, he was just as charming as he was graceful. Jun thought he was kind of magical, and someone he’d never be as close to as he wanted. Until one day they were in the same show together. They didn’t have much of a chance to talk together during the rehearsals other than “Hey can you pass me that shirt, thanks”, but after it was over Aiba approached him.
“Hey Matsujun! You were really cool today!” Jun wanted to say, no, you were a lot cooler than I was, but instead he just said “thanks, you too” What he hadn’t expected was Aiba asking him out for some drinks afterwards.
“Sho-chan always tells me that models shouldn’t drink so much, but it’s not everyday I get a chance to hang out with Matsujun right?” Jun thought he was dreaming, he had to be. He hardly even knew Aiba, they were barely acquaintances after all. Apparently though, Aiba didn’t care about that at all. He talked as if they’d known each other for years and Jun appreciated it, really.
It turned out that Aiba was a really clingy drunk and it didn’t help that Jun was just as clingy and as much of a crybaby as Aiba. “You know Matsujun, I’ve watched you for a really long time!”
“Huh?” Jun turned towards Aiba as he said that, and before his drunk brain could even process what was happening, they were kissing. Jun had imagined kissing Aiba a lot before, but actually kissing him was infinitely better than any fantasy he ever had. Aiba’s lips were pretty chapped, but so so warm against his own, and it seemed as though he knew just what to do to make Jun go crazy with his tongue despite never having kissed Jun before. He wondered if maybe this was what sunshine tasted like, and then he figured, that it was all part of the magic of just being Aiba Masaki.
“I’ve been wanting to do this for so long.” Jun said when they finally parted.
“Me too! I wasn’t sure if you’d want to, but Nino said told Sho-chan that you liked me!” Jun didn’t even know Nino knew Aiba or Sho-kun, but maybe he’d have to thank him later, Nino’s gossip did get him a kiss from Aiba in the end after all.
The next time Jun and Aiba appeared on the runway together, it was as a couple. There were paparazzi who found them out, but they decided to use that to their advantage. The greatest model couple in the fashion world Aiba Masaki and Matsumoto Jun, rivals, but more importantly, lovers.
