Granting One Wish

Note: I just finished watching 1 litre of tears (I didn't like the SP by the way) and found it disgraceful that there was basically no touching between Aya and Haruto at all. So a tiny drabble for a moment where there could have been but wasn't? (This will probably be like, my only straight piece of writing EVER XD... although this is probably going to be crap.
"'I want someone to hold me tight'" can I hold you? Even for a tiny moment, can I wrap my arms around you and feel as though I can help you? As though I can give you one thing that you want? Haruto thought this in his head as he continued to read Aya's Diary out loud.
"'okaasan, will I be able to get married?'" He chocked back his sobs but smiled at her words, "You are really trying hard, trying hard to live on" she reached for the letter board as a sign that she wanted to say something and he wiped a tear quickly before getting up and lifting it up for her to speak.
"Sou da yo"
"don't get too arrogant" they smiled at each other before she pointed to more letters, "live on. live on forever" her face was serious, as was his as he kept sniffling and they shared another look as he said, "I got it" and she smiled again, probably because it seemed like he was losing control of himself and wouldn't be able to stop himself from sobbing.
He sat back down and read them, "thank you" in her diary and that just about did it for him.
He started to sob, "Aya?" he was looking at the ground as she slowly turned her head to face him and looked at him with curiosity.
He practically fell off the bed as he kneeled by her side. his hand reached for hers and he held it firmly in his own.
"Aya" this time it was a whisper. If he had looked up at her he would have seen her tilt her head slightly to the side in question.
He looked up at her eventually and reached his own shaky hand to her face where he stroked her cheek gently with the back of his fingers. He lifted his body and wrapped his arms around the upper half of Aya's body where he could place his hands behind her head and hold her tight as he rested his head in her neck.
Her eyes widened as it happened. There had been so many times where she had wished that she could go back and hold onto the ones that she cared about, never thinking that they might be the ones to hold her first, and it felt so good. It had felt as reassuring as she had imagined, but maybe that was because it was her Asou-Kun. With his arms around her, it felt as though she didn't have a disease, it felt as though she was a normal girl again and she could do one more thing like everyone else. She manoeuvred her weak arms around him and held onto his shirt with all her might before she felt sleep over taking her body and drifted off into a slumber.
Haruto felt her hold onto him and it was the best feeling in the world. He would remember this feeling for the rest of his life. He felt her resting her head on his and took a moment to try composing himself better when he detached himself from her. His hands were still supporting her head when he moved back slightly, and he gently let her head loll to the side, "you're sleeping?"
He gave a small laugh, "you're still smiling"
He covered her with the blanket on the hospital bed and straightened it out slightly before giving her a gentle kiss in the forehead and sitting back down on the bed next to her to watch her peaceful state. Looking at her while she’s asleep, you wouldn't be able to tell anything was wrong with her. You wouldn't be able to tell that she wouldn't walk, couldn't speak. That she used so much effort to write her beliefs down every day because it was the only thing that she could do.
But he then saw the tears leaking from her closed eyes. A sign that even in her sleep she was still suffering. And there was nothing he could do to help her...
I know it is still sad, but was it so much to ask for a tiny little moment between them. And you know, he probably could have even kissed her. It’s not like she was contagious or anything lol.
