You and you're scents :P I'm much the same way, though not necessarily about the same kind of scents. I totally understand the people houses smelling different, though. It's one of the things I associate with people, is their smell - though I'm not sure I can describe it.

And I'm not really sure what this thing is...but go ahead and lay it on me? XD

Have I mentioned lately that you talk pretty? Because you talk pretty. This is the first time I've ever wanted to read Regency romance... what have you done?!

Can I have a list, love?

I get it now! Here am I grinding away on something thoughtful in a similar answer, when lo, you are doling them out! I'm not even sure if I want to know. They tell me that the olfactory portion of the brain is the part that is closest to the hippocampus, the part that records memories. If you have a cultured sense of smell, then the wires get crossed more and so a smell is the strongest form of casual recall of a memory. Almost everyone you could ask is likely to tell you about life at home, something they remember best and they will almost always tell you about something being baked or so on, I know I see the trope in fiction all the time. The only ones I remember are the smells of hospitals. And hospitals always smell like antiseptic death.
