I've read the Jane Austen books (of course), The Hobbit, and The Scarlet Letter. (I think...)
What I haven't finished/or just skimmed/or just read part of once for school: The Silmarillion, Don Quixote, Moby Dick, Jane Eyre, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, The Mists of Avalon, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Treasure Island.
I haven't bought anything, because I never buy books I haven't read. What if I don't like them? Then I wasted money I'll never get back. Books aren't cheap. I read everything before I buy it, unless it is incredibly low in price.
Wow. That's not very many. :-/

I'm usually with you on the reading books before I buy. But I also buy a lot of my books at thrift shops, for fairly cheap, so there I'm willing to take a chance on books I've never heard of. I've actually found some of my favorite books that way--"Daddy Long Legs" by Jean Webster, for example. It's one of my absolute favorites, about a orphan girl sent to college by a "mysterious benefactor." It's all in letters, and so good! I highly recommend it--It is one of my favorites. And a quick read. :) But at a full price bookstore? I only buy it if I've read it before, or its the newest book in a series I'm following by an author I love.

Let me know how you like Daddy Long Legs, even if you don't like it... No one else I know has read it, so I'd like to "talk" about it with some one, even if they dislike it. :)
