haha have you watched the episode? they had a 3 vs 3 free throw competition and then played a traditional fan throwing game. they also had these 2 guys on who performed using kendama. Arashi was great, but the general western public does not understand what a variety show in asia would consist of, so im sure it was a bit crazy to them, since theyre used to just sitting and chit chatting for like 15 minutes on whatever show they might have to promote on.
it probably didnt help that they introduced themselves and Sho said he was Yatterman and that its the Japanese Spiderman and the other 4 crowded around him to yell at him about it, haha...
overall, their entire segment was funny, if youre an Arashi fan. but i can see why they would feel overwhelmed. jamie foxx was great though~ ^_^
Haha yea I did watch it. That's probably true. I'm so used to watching them that it's hard to put myself in newcomers' shoes sometimes :P... I think the games part should have been ok, but I did wonder what the guests thought with the introductions hahaha. I remember thinking that Nino and Ohno came off super cocky if you didn't know them from years of TV watching... and I have no idea what they thought about Aiba's intro >_<
Now that I think about it, I suppose if I had to pinpoint what was "intense" about them, it was how distinctly different their personalities were... they seemed so excited so it intensified everything.
She said they were on there for 1 hr. Show only showed 30 min. I want unaired scenes!
they probably were afraid that aibas intro is representative of what foreigners think americans sound like haha >_< but at least they were probably impressed that nino knew clint eastwood, especially since the translator confirmed that he did know him~
i loved how emma was like, oh yeah, i play basketball every day! and that jun got jamie foxx to imitate funashii~ that was hilarious!!!
im sure they used all the video they could use. the rest of the hour was probably just set up time. i think its too expensive for them to have foreign guests on, so they wouldnt waste any usable material. im sure that if there are any unaired scenes, itll show up on a recap ep eventually. but itll probably just be them trying to chit chat in between set changes and stuff.
but its great that they can have such a broad range of people on the show~ ^_^
yeah, I guess so. Like the Utada Hikaru and Britney Spears comparison, just because they're around the same age and at the height of their popularity at the time.
