if they had brought chairman kaga back im sure that would have increased ratings too XD and even though im not in japan i never heard/saw any promo about it during cms for other shows or anything either so maybe not a lot of people knew about it?

Honestly it's just really bad timing. You bring back a show a decade later and revamp the hell out of it, it's not gonna feel the same. Plus more competing shows and different audience.
