Actually, with its various collaborations, Samurai Sessions isn't a whole album of any one thing, but like some gourmet menu mixing and matching the finest ingredients. Personally, I have other favorites of MYV's recent works, but for this song, for sheer talent alone, you have to stand in awe.
Yeah, I somewhat agree. This sounds pretty similar to everything he's done the past couple of years. He goes through phases tho. His older stuff sounds totally different.
Yes, I also really enjoy the shamisen included. I had not been familiar with Hiromitsu Agatsuma before, but apparently a well recognized, and obviously remarkable player.
I want Miyavi to play shamisen again, too! Please do it again, Samurai! In fact, do it on tour♥
Amazing how the three of them fill the air with such a full, complex sound. It would make a great theme song for some big scale action movie, wouldn't it? Maybe a Western movie score, especially with Jin Oki's flourishes suggesting a Latin guitar sound, or samurai action, with the shamisen.
