Today Fuji TV finally made it official. The dorama "Code Blue" will see its 2nd season in the upcoming winter season and Yamapi will yet again find himself in the getsu9 slot after only 1 season after "Buzzer Beat".

It might be no surprise to see a 2nd season of "Code Blue", after all it achieved a high average rating of 15.6% which gained it the first place back then. This year’s special even had a viewer rating of 23.1%, one of Fuji TV’s best single-episode dorama of 2009. However, it’s still a surprise to see it happen so soon after its original season and a first in the getsu9 history to have one actor occupying this slot twice in only a period of 3 TV seasons.

Obviously he commented that he’s very happy about filming a sequel and that he would like to give us an even better view into the world of medical treatment. The rest of the old cast is also going to return to the dorama, including Aragaki Yui, Toda Erika, Higa Manami and Asari Yosuke. There roles will be the same as well, with Higa staying a flight nurse and the others being flight doctor cadets next to Yamapi. For Aragaki it is going to be her first ever dorama sequel and she’s extremely happy about it as well. Toda is hyped too, "I’d like to give you all an exciting experience."

Code Blue is a dorama about doctors who are trained to treat the injured people as fast as people by using a helicopter as their way of transportation. They are also qualified to continue their treatment while they are still on their way back to a hospital. Japan passed the law to create such "doctor helis" in 2007 and in 2008 Fuji TV already turned it into a dorama to make people more aware of this new group of lifesaving doctors.

Yamapi wants to put his heart into his performance for the 2nd season in order to make more people think about becoming such a doctor heli as well. I guess we can only support such an attitude and look forward to another strong season of "Code Blue" next year.
