No, chicken pox and shingles are two different diseases.

Chicken pox can turn into Shingles years later in some cases. The confusion comes from the fact both come from the same virus but turn into different diseases. If someone had chicken pox as a child/young adult, they can have Shingles appear years later but not always. Likewise, someone who never had chicken pox can get Shingles.
Both do have different symptoms and the rashes are different from my understanding.

Ah, gotcha. I knew they were different, I just didn't know that adults could get chicken pox.

Yep, Its actually worse for someone to get chicken pox as an adult instead of during childhood
