Japan seems to love games where you grind and grind and grind, and from what I understand Monster Hunter is pretty much the ultimate embodiment of that.
actually i think it's possible for her to clock that time.
there's a great deal of waiting in between recordings for programs etc (always numerous details just take time; adjusting the lighting, the mikes, etc etc) not to mention the shuffling in transport to get to different places.

Since Monster Hunter Tri was released (1st August 2009) to the date of the article (11th February 2011), 559 days have passed. That's 13,416 hours.
To do say 2000 hours in 559 days, you'd have to do ~3.5 hours every single day in that period.
Possible for a regular person? Sure. For a singer? Hmm...
