Caught in the doorway to the balcony of the fancy ballroom, Mark's hand still on his arm, Eduardo stops - because Mark is quiet and his fingers are static and Mark is never static or still, not even now with his success set in stone; in truth Eduardo stops because he's tired and he misses his best friend and because he made a bad deal but wouldn't admit it, because he's forgiven him but he's not ready to say it yet.

Mark doesn't say anything and neither does Wardo but he opens his eyes and it may be small, but putting things back together takes time; at least it's a start.

SAJFKLSDJF LMFAO, TRUTH. I think fandom tends to favor pre-facebook fic because there's less angst hanging around there, or really post-deposition fic because there can be less fraught reconciliation scenes, but DEPOSITION-ERA FIC OMGGGGG. MY FAVORITE AND MOST PEOPLE GENERALLY WRITE AROUND IT, BECAUSE THE WORLD IS CRUUUUEL.

Exactly! People like to write around that whole having-to-completely-fix-a-broken-friendship aspect which is actually probably the part that fascinates me most? There are a couple I've read where they kind of intersperse the fixing with notreallyhate!sex which totally works for me. I mean, I understand sticking to Harvard and Palo Alto blowjobs because, let's be honest, that's fun times. BUT DEPOSITION!ERA.
