LOL originally, there wasn't supposed to be a catch. It started in my head as "how could I rewrite the episode to get a simple happy ending, without Neal faking his death."
But then, somewhere in the process, I thought "what if it was just all a dream"...

Ugh, for just a moment there, I hoped it could have gone this way, all warm and fuzzy and a nice ending! but ahhhh, the angst, IT KILLS ME.

Amazing, though! Love the alternate reality (how utterly unimaginative of me, lol), and love that last moment of Peter's dream before he wakes up, and oh, the angst. Lovely.
