Steve Irwin Remembered

Sep 04, 2006 19:51

I'm still so sad over this loss, so I thought I'd share some pics of Steve. He was just 44 years old. I'll miss his exhuberance and passion for wildlife and the quirky little way he said "Crikey!". I really loved this guy and all he stood for.

*hugs* I can't imagine life without him now. He's done such a fabulous job touching so profundly, all those around him. I expect his daughter to have her own show on Animal Planet in no time.

how do you feel about them possibly releasing the video of his death? i can't believe they are even talking about that!

I think release the work he was doing is fine--release the footage they have. Just don't include the accident. All the money could go directly to his zoo. But there's no need for anyone to see him die. That's tasteless.

I know how you feel. I've been a fan since I was 13yrs old and I've just turned 23. Damn... ten years of thinking this dude was awesome and now he's gone. His poor family.

I feel like I lost a childhood friend or something.

I'm the same age as Steve. Both of us born in '62. I feel like I'm lost a friend. But I can't imagine how it must feel to care for someone in your youth and then lose them long before you should have. *hugs*

he always made me smile, his exuberance... life is always hard as is,
you know? But he made it a little easier, sometimes.

I agree. I feel for all of those in his inner circle. Terri, Wes, his kids... his dad. It's wrong that he's been taken from us. And it just sucks

I was so shocked when I saw that he had died last night on the msn page.
My son found out this morning and when my husband came down he said "do you know who died?" He use to love the croc hunter. One year in school he had the crocodile hunter back pack and he had the crocodile hunter game. I was very sad to see this. he was so full of life and energy. But he died doing something he believed in and something he loved.

He definitely went out the way he wanted. He just went way too soon.

*sniff*
