Have you ever noticed that it takes a huge reform to get some governmental entity to accept and legalize gay marriage but only one conservative snot to bring the whole issue into unrest again?
...yes. for some reason, we're more afraid of offending one conservative snot than marginalizing a whole a group of people with unequal treatment under the law.
i keep hoping it'll change in this country, now that we've elected mostly sane politicians this time around. but i know that we americans are an especially gullible sort. we don't immediately laugh some of these clowns right out of the public eye. crap like that wouldn't go over well in most countries.
ooh, i have one!For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. oh, wait. that can't be right.
I'm not coming up with anything honesty. Which is part of why this hurts me. I didn't have a problem with giving an honest answer, but watching this turn into a circus, blah. I'm not sure I want a pageant whore as Christianity's spokesperson. There are people that, however much one disagrees with them, are more reputable and have their money where their mouth is. She's not one of them.
precisely how i feel. i just... don't care. her opinion is of no consequence to me. it may be hurtful to some people i know, but it doesn't actually pose much of a threat unless everyone agrees with her, or if people in power agree with her.
