Oh my! These are so cute! If I had money I would buy things!
It looks like it took you a long time. I am guessing you like cross-stitch then? xD

Thank you :) I do love cross stitching. Once I create the pattern, it takes about a day to actually stitch it up (with lots of breaks inbetween) XD

That heart pattern! I came up with something just like that for my cross stitch Hetalia patches. ;A; now I'm sad I don't stitch faster. I'll have to think up a new pattern.

What is your stitch count on your fabric? Do you buy any particular brand? I'd love some helpful pointers if you're willing to give them! :)

Oh sorry about that! I love making my own patterns and I've created patterns for everyone from Australia to Prussia and currently working out a Soviet Union/East Germany pattern.

Generally I stitch on 22-count Aida fabric, which is what the hearts are stitched on. The England fancard was stitched on 32-count evenweave, so I can stitch on linen, I just prefer aida (actually I don't care about the fabric, I just prefer stitching 2 over 1 rather than 1 over 1 ( ... )

Hmm, I know I have some linen, but I haven't moved on to stitching with that yet. I just recently started using 22-count hardanger fabric for patches, which is nice because the stitches come out very tight and neat. I've been cross stitching for years, but I'm still rather new to it. I don't think I've ever stitched 2 over 1 before! So much to learn...I admire your skills.

Where did you find the button kit? I'd love to give something like that as gifts.

2 over 1 is 2 threads stitched over 1 square, so that's what I do on 22-count or lower fabric (unless I have to stitch on 16 or 14-count for some reason and then I do 3 threads over 1 square because I don't like too much fabric to show through the thread).

And thank you for the complement *blushes* I have been stitching for years, but a couple of years ago I got into the British cross stitch magazines and that's when I saw a great advancement in my stitching- the Brits has all sorts of tips and tricks to make stitching easier and your stitches neater. I really recommend Jane Greenoff's book New Cross Stitcher's Bible which is just amazing. The patterns themselves are blah, but the way she explains the techniques and all the tips she gives makes the book invaluable ( ... )
