Actually, this sounds like there's going to be tons of fun had by all. I would definitely be interested. I've got some OCs that would love to play in a new sandbox...
(here from fanficrants) I like this idea. If you want help organizing it, I'm with that; I've run a few ficathons myself.
It's a bit tricky to organize something that's multi-fandom, especially if it's a fic-exchange. I'm not sure if you want it to be a full-fledged fic exchange or not, or just a bunch of people posting fic.
Option 1: Don't make it a fic exchange. Just make a com where people can post fic that they wrote from their own plot bunnies at the given time.
Option 2: Make it a prompt fest, where people supply generic prompts which could suit any fandom, and people claim prompts that they like.
Option 3: Do make it a fic-exchange, and match on fandom. The Archive of Our Own has a setup designed for this, though I haven't tried it out yet. Apparently Yuletide uses it, which would indicate that it's pretty robust.
Oh yay, someone who knows about this kind of a thing! Awesome :D
I am primarily thining wither option 1 or 2 - a bit more towards option 1. I do wna this to be multi-fandom and as far-reaching as possible and, well, ok, exchanges give me anxiety on a personal levelo so I am not comfortable with the idea of running one myself.
Yeah, I can understand leaning towards option 1, but I think some participants might like option 2, because they may not have OFC story ideas and would like prompts for them.
Whatever the option chosen, I think it might work well if people claim or are assigned posting days; that is, rather than having everyone post at once and fic being lost in the flood, the posting is staggered over a number of days/weeks (depending on how many participants there are).
The bujold_fic fest might be a good model for what we want. It's a prompt-based fest, and while it's focused on the works of Lois McMaster Bujold, that encompasses at least three different fandoms
( ... )
I've created several OCs for my Giant Inception Gen Fic, and several of them are female, and you know, I'm interested in giving at least one of them them her own story.

This sounds awesome. I'm in! (After NaNo, obviously, because writing anything else during NaNo = Bad Plan.) You said you'll drop us PMs or whatnot when more info is available? ^_^

I like this idea - it would seem to be a way to make this a structured event instead of a free-for-all could-be-a-clusterfuck :D
