Yeah the movie was just so right on spot with Spock being so hot and gay, it's amazing. The only casting decisions I didn't like were Kirk (but no-one can overact like Shatner so..) and Scotty, but I never liked the characters much anyway. And Uhura is a bit so-so of an R&B babe, but again, who could compare to the goddess-like beauty Nichelle Nichols.. The premise sounded awful, re-casting these legendary charaters, but the end result is awesome, I really didn't think they'd be able to pull it off!
Btw if you watch Star Trek the original series, in the first season you have Spock and Uhura flirting on occasion, so even this is firmly canon.
cotty was a scene-stealetr to me. thena gain,a ll I could think of was SIMON PEGG!!!! and not Scotty. XD
TOS... Everything else kind of gets overshadowed by the whole Kirk/Spock epic hetersexual lifepartnership for me, so I may have to watch the first season with more of a Spock/Uhura eye to it.
