'The Vampire Diaries' endgame!

Jun 30, 2017 20:35

Believe it or not, I am working on my TVD issues/missed opportunities post. (I think I may get it done this weekend... or at least get a really good jump into it. Not surprisingly, it's going to be massive.) Anyhoo, while looking for some comments here and there through older posts to get the framework for the post I came across this post from 2012 ( Read more... )

Pretty good call.

The threads were there to read from early on, if people cared to pay attention to them. I didn't really have any thoughts about Stefan though.

Yeah, the threads were there. It was in the narrative, but a lot of people didn't want to pay attention.

Re: Stefan, I know that I'm a rare Damon/Elena, Damon fan who just adores Stefan, LOL!

Yeah, I was pretty surprised when I saw that. I knew that I was pretty confident about Damon and Elena, and Stefan and Damon coming to a good place, but that I had thought Stefan might sacrifice himself for Damon to find peace, and that I used that word (and twice)? Pretty good!

Nicely predicted! :)

Thank God that Tyler/Caroline wasn't endgame. What a boring, wasteful ship it turned out to be. At least she and Stefan got to be truly happy for a time - and even get married - before he sacrificed himself to save his brother. Not a bad ending.

Thank you.

And, re: Tyler/Caroline... seriously. That would have been so sad and lame.

At least she and Stefan got to be truly happy for a time - and even get married - before he sacrificed himself to save his brother. Not a bad ending.

Yeah. Yeah, at least there was that.

Hey, I would've preferred happily ever after for them, too, but I'm content with Damon and Elena getting that. Stefan going out redeeming himself and saving Damon felt like one big apology for all the times we got frustrated with his denial about his own nature, not to mention all the times he was less than a good brother. He completed his character development and truly became a hero in that moment.
