First of all: THANK YOU SO MUCH! ♥ I have over 40 comments from you in my inbox *_________________* And of course I'm going to read & reply to all of them as soon as I can... which will hopefully be soon, as in, this month lol I can't wait!
Well, here are a few more! I'm trying to keep up on these for you so they don't build up like they had been. Just get to them when you can. I'm enjoying reading your responses (and they are very appreciated... as you see in some cases, yours are the only one).
"Elena had a beautiful moment. I absolutely loved it. She told Stefan: "I feel kind of exhilarated. [...] I fought back. It felt good!"" - Yes, it was a great moment and I also wonder... Could the trip to Georgia be a little intro/lead-up to that? Standing up to Lee was also a brave thing to do. Elena had every reason to assume she was putting herself in danger by trying to save Damon yet she didn't hesitate to get involved.I think yes and no. The 'yes,' I'm taking from what happened in season 03 in how Elena spending time with Damon and

No, it was before Elena told him about the kiss. I think he was commenting on her behavior/attitude during that day overall.
Right, but wasn't he being a jerk about it? I was starting to be really negative about the show around this point of the show (thankfully, once I got past the finale and over the summer and I went spoiler-free this never happened again!). My point being in that my recollect isn't as good about this episodes.
I've long held that Stefan never loved Elena, that he never saw her as a person she was his Katherine stand-in and an ideal that she couldn't possibly live up to. Not to mention the fact that I don't believe Stefan truly knew Elena wasn't Katherine until she showed up in season 2.
I've always loved that Damon and Elena always saw each other and understood each other from the beginning, something Stefan and Elena never did.
I think that for Stefan, Elena was the good parts version of Katherine, but I do believe that he loved her. He just loved her conditionally. And when those conditions weren't meant, it wasn't good enough for him. On the other hand, I think it was actually the exact same thing for Elena. She loved Stefan conditionally. Theirs was a temporary love, never meant to last. For Elena, her love with Stefan got her through the heartbreak after losing her parents. For Stefan, his love with Elena got him to reuniting with his brother (his most important relationship).
I've always loved that Damon and Elena always saw each other and understood each other from the beginning, something Stefan and Elena never did.
