So, I just finished another of my favorite shows tonight (yeah, TVD, Parks & Rec, Elementary, Person of Interest and Scandal -- my five favorite shows, ALL on Thursday night) and it was...
Last night was an awesome episode. The entire thing was glorious from beginning to end.
I don't ship Olivia/Fitz - they are way too dysfuctional for me to actually want them to be together, but I do ship Jake/Olivia. Yes, dysfunctional there too, but Scott Foley and Kerry Washington are so pretty together. Both Olivia/Fitz and Olivia/Jake have great chemistry, but I'm TEAM JAKE. ;)
I adore Kerry Washington and love Olivia, but Huck is my favorite character on the show. Guillermo Diaz was UH-MAY-ZING in last week's episode, and I loved that we got some of Huck's backstory. I do enjoy the Huck/Quinn scenes and their whole storyline.
Ahh, Cyrus. Jeff Perry is just phenomenal. I am glad he's not the mole either, because I love the Cyrus/Olivia friendship.
And I LOVED that Mellie did the interview with James. I can't wait for the fallout from that.
As we've discussed the only character I don't like on the show is Abby (she can DIAF for all I care), but everyone else I love.
I love Jake because hello! Scott Foley, but yeah, I'm all for Fitz/Olivia. Can't help it.
Huck is my 2nd favorite character and it's pretty much been that from the beginning. And I can't get over how much I love Huck/Quinn stuff.
Ahh, Cyrus. Jeff Perry is just phenomenal. I am glad he's not the mole either, because I love the Cyrus/Olivia friendship.
This, this, all of this!
As we've discussed the only character I don't like on the show is Abby (she can DIAF for all I care), but everyone else I love.
Heh, I actually forgot about her. I don't love her, I'm just meh on her. I actually blame the actress, I just don't think she's very likable. Ah well, small complaint when everything else is so great.
Scandal!!! I agree that Thursday's ep was really solid -- though it made me feel like I was watching two shows (the Fitz/Olivia/Mellie/Cyrus show and the "case file" show -- trying to find the mole).
I have to say this is the one show where I'm not digging Scott Foley (after loving him on Grey's). I always notice his makeup -- which is awful, but I swear they put too much blush and lip gloss on him. (And if he's going against Charlie, I'll take Charlie in that fight any day and twice on Sundays. ;)
Fitz/Olivia are my angsty, star-crossed ship, and I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. ;) But good to see risks being taken from a character perspective -- affair stories have the potential to get stagnant, since nobody wants to budge from their current position. I liked to see the pieces being moved around the board -- relationships evolving, tensions coming to a head, etc. The last two eps should be quite a doozy!!!

Hmm, I guess it all worked for me because Olivia was the thread that connected the two.
Aww, you're not digging Scott FOley? Wow, I can not comprehend that, but that's just because I've seen just about everything he's done and never not loved him. I haven't noticed any off make-up stuff, though. Of course, there's only one show I watch with eagle eyes, LOL!

What I love about Fitz/Olivia is that they really don't write love stories like this anymore. The Romeo/Juliet, Tristan/Isolde, over-the-top, AAAHHHHHHHH! kind of love because we should be independent and not live, exist, breathe for love, blah, blah, blah. Fitz and Olivia? They are that kinda love. And it's awesome to watch.

It just really strikes me when I watch their scenes. It's just all about the AHHHHH! Larger than life they have that we just don't see much. :) So, yeah, I love it.
I admit, I thought of you when I posted this, LOL!
BTW I'm all caught up on TVD and will comment on your loooong reviews soon ;). You made me realize some stuff I didn't notice in 4x19. The only thing you didn't manage to save was 4x20, sorry!! I'll comment there soon! ;)
I hope that you read my 4.19 after your comment which made you like it more (or at least reconsider stuff), but I'm thinking not. I'm not terribly surprised about you and 4.20 though.
Coming back to Scandal. Yes, this episode was made of AWESOME. I really liked there was a bit more levity in this one. I think we all needed that after the previous heartbreaking episode. Even Olitz got to be happy for like twenty seconds or something, lol.
I agree; it was nice seeing some joy, and it was joyful. Pure and unadulterated.
And yeah, Kerry Washington is a GODDESS. I love this actress so so much. And Olivia Pope is one of the best female leads ever. She's complicated and messy and smart and beautiful and strong and perfect

I have a feeling I'll inject myself a good dose of this episode after watching the finale, lol! Damn you, Shonda!

Well, I've always been drawn to that kind of love stories anyway (Anakin/Padmé on Star Wars, Buffy/Angel on BtVS, Lois Lane/Superman and so on). I think what's so surprising to people is the fact that this kind of love story takes place in a very realistic environment.
