i love this fic so much! as much as i love the show, even now, i kind of wish the pairings were like in this fic. it just makes so much sense! you're completely right that caroline and stefan make each other better versions of themselves, the same way that damon and elena do. and i can totally see rebekah and matt doing the same.

i can't wait for the next chapter. thank you so much for all the work you've put into this wonderful story. :)

Thank you very much for taking the time to comment. I've been a bit bummy at the lack of comments, but I finished it so I did want to post it all even if only a few people are interested. I appreciate those that are taking the time to let me know they like it.

And thank you for saying that you love the show too (!) and I have hope that someday we may see some of the pairings similar to this at some point. I can dream, right?

Wow. This is just... wow. Feels so good to read, really :-)) You put all the characters through hell and angst, but now they really deserve their happy ending. And I love Stefan at the end, telling Elena not to hurt his brother. Because he loves him.
Looking forward to the last (?) chapter. Bring it on!

I just wanted to let you know how much I have been enjoying this story and how much I can't wait to read the final chapter. Can't you just post it now...surely it's almost Tuesday somewhere in the world! So many aspects of your story make me wish you were writing the show, i.e. no sire bond, having characters who close one relationship before beginning another and as liitle bit of contact with Ric, to name just a few. Thank you so much for all of your hard work. It's not easy to find a nice long story I can sink my teeth into and wait anxiously for updates as I have yours. I'm sorry it's almost over!

Eh, I don't mind the sire bond as long as it's shown to be fake (because it literally has ZERO consistency, and the sun and more curse turned out to be fake and that had a bunch of questions too).

This is where I have the upper hand in that I'm not writing a continuing drama, LOL! My story is done, I don't have two more years to write.

Thank you very much. I've spent a lot of time questioning whether this is any good because I've gotten very little response overall beyond the first few chapters. But I kept going and I'm glad I've finished it for those who have enjoyed it.

Another one with a major change, as I was going through my outlines I realized that there was zero Damon/Elena in this chapter and I was like ACK! Then it hit me, OH MY GOD! I have to give Stefan actual, real closure with Elena (and Damon to a degree). I was so happy with the addition.

And, yeah, since I had an end (and not two more seasons, LOL!), I wanted to bring closure (of some sort) to every character/relationship that I touched upon.
