I am so, so, so happy! :D :D :D

President Re-Elect Barack Obama! :D

ETA: For reals, ya'll! I'm hoping to try and get to hear Obama's victory speech while here at work, so I went to barackobama.com and seeing the front page literally made me put my face in my hands and bite back a huge cry of joy.

Finally sitting down to watch the rest of the coverage and when Ohio was called and he was officially elected, I started tearing up again.

It's crazy how everyone at work was watching his victory speech (it aired at 8 a.m. our time)... and talking about where they were when he won four years ago... most people agreed that for some reason this was even more exciting.

I think it's so much more exciting this time because so much more was on the line. We've seen so many politicians come out and say some very scary things during this campaign process that I think had people concerned for their rights, and they wanted to make sure that they secured those rights.

I think that's definitely part of it as well. I mean, beyond Obama, we elected the 1st woman to the Mass. legislature (go Warren!), a war veteran/amputee, a lesbian and NH is ALL women. It's just awesome.

I think it was exciting because it felt more hard-fought and because it was under such tremendous odds. I know I've been tearing up sporadically since yesterday. :)

I am filled with such pride that Americans turned out in record numbers and let their voices be heard!

There was never a doubt in my mind that President Obama would be re-elected, but hearing the networks call Ohio for Obama and seeing the news flash across my tv screen was a moment I will never forget. Four years ago was special, but knowing this time that it was a hard fought battle and that our President still came out on top, made it even more special. I am so proud to be an American right now :)

Love, love that America proved that their vote couldn't be bought!

Four years ago was special, but knowing this time that it was a hard fought battle and that our President still came out on top, made it even more special.

That's what I was thinking.
