Dude, I don't care if it's just the Teen Choice Awards!

I totally expected The Vampire Diaries, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev to win the show, actor/actress category ... and they did. However, I did NOT expect Ian to win the choice male hottie because, you know, Justin Bieber was nominated as well. But I was wrong ( Read more... )

Agreed. It seriously never even crossed my mind that Bieber wouldn't win so that he didn't and that Ian won was awesome!!

Hell to the YEAH!

Good for Ian, he totally deserved to be voted Choice Hottie! The man has certainly paid his dues in the industry and it's so good to see him winning awards and being recognized. Now if the Emmy PTB would recognize his uber talent and let go of the fact that he's on a CW show, that would be all kinds of fantastical :)

He did totally deserve it, no one hotter!

I would love to see him get more critical notice, but every year he does seem to get more attention outside of the CW/fandom bubble and that is AWESOME.

I was rather excited by their wins, too. Candace won for scene-stealer as well. So the only person who didn't get any love was Paul. Poor guy. :(

No, Kat was nominated alongside Nina and lost. And Joseph Morgan was nominated for villain and lost.

They did? Geesh. I hate it when I have unreliable new sources. LOL

Yup. And I gotta say Joseph not winning surprised me, but didn't. I figured that I was wrong that he isn't as popular as Kevin, Julie & crew hoped for and talk about as if he is, but I think this kinda proves that he isn't. If Michael Trevino -- who's made pretty much zero waves compared to Nina, Ian, Paul, Candice and Kat -- can win two years running, but JoMo can't win the villain category (a category that Ian won handily)? Yeah, I'm thinking they overestimated his popularity. Shoulda gone with the original plan and killed him off at the end of the season letting our "heroes" win. Ah well, maybe this season.
