Emmy predictions (hah!)

Sep 18, 2011 12:08

My thoughts on the (main) Emmy nominations (well, main to me) with my picks of who I think will win, should win, sentimental favorite (ie, I don't think they should win, but I love them so) and should have been nominated (damnit!).

Let's see how wrong I'll be behind the cut! )

tv, kaley cuoco, the vampire diaries, parks & recreation, justified, adam scott, nina dobrev, candice accola, timothy olyphant, glee, allison brie, game of thrones, ian somerhalder, neil patrick harris, jim parsons, friday night lights, the big bang theory

Teen soap and sci-fi actors seldom get nominated. Doesn't matter how good the shows are, or the actors are, if they aren't on something considered higher brow it almost never happens. Nina will probably be 30 and playing a lawyer or a doctor in something before she gets a nomination (and everyone will go, "Where did she come from?" when she wins and we'll be all, "I told you so!"

I sure hope that we don't have to wait that long for her to win her much deserved recognition, BUT if it does comes down to this, I will just not rest by saying "I told you so!" I'll shove the whole series in their faces and say.: "THAT'S HER...An actress who WOW'D AND AWED several Generations while you guys were too damn busy doing God knows what to notice!"

That's the only reason I constantly wish that this show was on some Uber- Popular channel. So that it obtained it's coveted recognition and appraise.
I don't have any complaints or negative feelings towards CW, if anything, I'm happy that this channel is the home of some of my favorite shows of ALL times.

My Emmy Picks: I will just note down my ultimate favorites.

Outstanding Drama Series: The Vampire Diaries *sigh*. Will it never be nominated? Ever? *sigh*

Outstanding Comedy Series:I kinda Love "Modern Family" *smiles sheepishly* Mitchell, Gloria and especially Manny cracks me up a lot.... :/

Outstanding Actress in a Drama:Nina Constantinova Dobreva. If anyone deserves An Emmy for this category, it's HER. Playing 4 "different" characters so damn flawlessly, making each one seem so effortless when we all know how much it might screw with the poor girl's head and sanity, and playing each of the roles gracefully, beautifully, doing justice and taking into notes of each and every single little details such as "hair tucked in right side or left". That's precision and sharp acting, THAT DESERVES AN EMMY MORE THAN ANYTHING OR ANYONE!

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama: Candice Freaking Accola. Well like KW says, she's the one person who can make us cry and laugh in the same scene. She does FULL justice to adorable, strong, feisty ( ... )

I'm going with a Boardwalk Empire upset in the Drama category. They already won technical awards where GoT was thought to be the front runner. Plus, Scorcese and Buscemi offer the right pedigree. The Emmys and their inferiority complex love themselves Oscar Winners. It's probably the reason Laura Linney is the front runner and probably the reason Kathy Bates was even nominated. (I'm not saying KB isn't good but she stars in a low rated, somewhat critically panned network show. That's the kind performance that tends to get overlooked even if it is brilliant ( ... )

I'm in the "anything but The Good Wife and Glee" bandwagon.

I think Johnny Galecki got the spot reserved for Charlie Sheen. He's usually nominated, but blew it this year.

I hope Jim wins again too ♥
