oh, 'American Idol,' I missed you

I didn't finish the episode, but I think it's safe to say that I'm quite enjoying the new panel. I feel like Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are doing great, along with Randy. It doesn't feel awkward or as if something is wrong or missing. I've always maintained it was about the contestants, the format, etc. and not Simon Cowell. And actually ( Read more... )

Ooh. Interesting prediction. My guess is 15-20 million. Sadly, DVRs have taken away a good portion of the live audience for even the most popular shows. But I'll be happy to be wrong. :)

I really like this judging panel, too. Randy gets to sit in the "big chair," but what I like about it is there's not (yet) that...ganging up vibe that I never liked. Randy and Simon were such a pair of gossipy girls, it bugged me. I get the feeling every judge is reacting in their own way, but not snickering to each other (overtly) like "Ha ha ha, check that out."

VERY anxious to see what other changes Nigel has up his sleeve. That new opening is...something. ;)

I was actually right. They were down a bit from last year, but still 27 million viewers.

Oh, cool (stupid Mediaweek site not updating PIfeedback!! Grrrr....)

I wonder if you factor in the day change, they didn't go down by much. Relocating a show always brings the audience down on its face.

(Oh, yay -- you still have that icon! Sigh...wonder if there will be anybody half as good as either of those two this year ;)
