Bowties are Cool!

Okay, I'm definitely enjoying it more. Everyone who said it gets better as the series continues was absolutely right. And I'm falling more and more in love with Eleven with each episode. And while I do like Amy, I have figured out what my main problem with her is. With Rose, Martha and Donna, there was always this sense of joy and wonder ( Read more... )

Don't worry! That sense of wonderment you've sensed Amy seems to lack? Well, Moffat's not messy in his storytelling; there's a reason for it. You'll be well at home shipping Rory/Amy. Most of the fandom loves them.

With “The Hungry Earth” and “Cold Blood”, I came away really wanting to know what happened next. What happened when they DID encounter humanity again? THESE THINGS, I need to know. (I suspect maybe we'll find out in S6?)

Right, I was hoping that we would see 1,000 years in the future, but then Rory died and I no longer cared.

I generally do think that Moffat is VERY messy in his storytelling, BUT, I had hoped that one of the things that would be gained from him being the exec producer would be that he wouldn't be so messy. So, I'll take your word for it. I do like Amy; I really do. I just like Eleven (hah! like, I LOVE HIM!) and Rory more.

Stop saying sorry!!!!!!!! Please, I'm actually begging you. it's a sign of weakness, damn NCIS FOR PWNING THAT FREAKING LINEGah. It's my opinion. Plus you don't want to me to get all ranty on the phone. You'll be quiet for 5 years after I rant on the phone. It also makes me laugh after I literally render my friend's speechless but yeah my friend also get annoyed by me after and won't call me again in about 2 hours to vent their own frustrations...

ANYWAY...

You know why I didn't like this episode so that's done with.

M.S. and K.G. is freaking awesome together. I hate myself for shipping 11/Amy more then Rory/Amy but come on!! It's there!

Still pissed at Rory's death on Cold Blood. Oh and that chick with the purple jacket killing that Silurian pissed me off too. But I agree everything else.

Eh, no worries. I wrote this up *before* I "talked" to you in the other thread and on Twitter, and I didn't bother changing it.

We don't disagree on that; I am not happy that Rory died, and yeah, that Silurian was annoying!tar

I don't think flashbacks dumb things down. I always remind myself that there are a TON of kids who watch this show, people like my little cousins, who maybe need the visual reminders more than us old folks!

I just can't see it as anything other than dumbing down, sorry. I go back to Bad Wolf in s1, we didn't need constant flashbacks to get it. And I think any kid who's old enough to understand the concept of the show period wouldn't need flashbacks either. That's my experience with kids anyway. :)

Yeah, I don't see it as that simple. There are a lot of kids here who watch the show for the monsters, and the action, and the silly Doctor, who may not always have full grasp of the narrative. Having met David Tennant a few times, he always had fans who were kids wanting to meet him, some of whom were VERY young, and in Britain the fan base does start from school age children, and the Brits are very aware of this. Maybe the US is different, but Who is an institution here, a generational thing that whilst does include adults, includes very young and new fans too. I went to the Doctor Who exhibit here and they have school groups of 6-7 year olds doing tours. I think the production team are very aware of their need to work to that age group as well. Sure, it may be dumbing down for adults, but we aren't the only ones watching.

I Love to read your thoughts on Doctor Who. I consider myself an official DW fan now! Did you see the story about Johnny Depp playing Doctor Who?

"And I'm falling more and more in love with Eleven with each episode."

I've only seen one episode so far and already I like him!

If you ever go back and watch seasons 1-4, I did write-ups on a lot of those, and the show in general.

And, sorry, but, I'm NOT a Johnny Depp fan. I don't actively dislike him, but I don't really like him all that much either. Haven't since he first appeared in 21 Jump Street. I like some of his roles, but they are few and far between. I have seen most of his work though, and I wouldn't like to see him as the Doctor. He just isn't him.

Eleven just gets better and better. He's awesome!

I'll be sure to check those out! I Love reading your stuff. I remember that your not crazy about Johnny like I am! You don't have to tell me again I have a good memory.

It turns out there is no Who film in the works!

Yeah, the movie thing has actually been debunked several times, but it's one of those rumors that just will not die down. It will probably pop up again in a few months with a different actor attached.

I know you're a fan of his so I try not to be negative about him, and didn't know if I had mentioned that I don't like him or not since we both agreed about how great AiW was.

Really? You think Arthur Darvill and Karen Gillan have no chemistry together? Eh, I think the dynamic is fine between all three of them. Matt Smith is an AMAZING doctor. I like Rory/Amy because it reminds me of what Mickey/Rose could be (even though I haven't seen all of Series 2 yet, I heard about it.)

I like them, but, yup, no chemistry. That has nothing to do with the dynamic. The dynamic is wonderful between the two and the three of them. And I don't think that Rory/Amy are ANYTHING like Rose/Mickey mostly because I believe that Amy could be happy/in love with Rory, and that was never the case with Rose and Mickey.
