I may be Team Ranger in the books, but ...

Jason O'Mara (so not Jersey-Italian looking, but whatevs) is playing Morelli. If he and Katherine Heigl have a lick of chemistry, I'll be team Morelli for the movies. I still love Heigl (yes, I do), and I HEART Jason O'Mara. (Daniel Sunjata is Ranger.)

Off topic, but I was JUST thinking about what Jason O'Mara was doing right now. I was watching old episodes of Monarch of the Glen. It's weird how some things come up in more than one area of one's life.

Heh, yeah that's happened to me before too.

Heigle? Seriously? Heigle for Plum? The hell?

I am team Morelli, book or whatever, btw. :)) And I don't even know who Jason O'Mara is. Or that other guy. So not who I imagined in the parts.

I didn't even know the movie was being made.

Okay, never mind, just looked them both up, and I know them. Not bad casting for Ranger. He's got that Dark Goon look that'll work. And thankfully he doesn't talk much in the books, so that's a plus. :) O'Mara is a good actor, from what little I've seen him in. So not how I pictured Morelli, though, but not bad at all.

She dyed her hair brown and has been sporting it for a while. I actually think she'll do a pretty fantastic job. Unfortunately her reputation and rom-coms of late have overshadowed what an outstanding, committed to her character actress she is.

I don't care about her reputation. She takes the roles that she can get. I will never fault an actor for that. I hate her character on Grey's Anatomy more than any comedy character she ever played.

It's not that I am skeptical of her abilities, it's that she is plain and simple the wrong type for the part. She is too good looking, too not South Jersey (yes, she is an actress and she can fake the accent, but it's more than just speech), and too young. Or looks too young. There's no way in hell I am buying this woman as a Trenton big hair lower middle class brawler and klutz, and I don't care what color her hair is.

Jason O'Mara for Morelli? The casting for this movie is so, so weird. None of these people fit the book profiles at all.

I know you hate Heigl, but I've been a fan forever and as I said above, unfortunately her reputation and rom-coms of late have overshadowed what an outstanding, committed to her character actress she is. I have no doubt that she can pull it off perfectly. She's been sporting darker hair for a while now for this reason so people are used to her as brunette and a not blonde.

I love O'Mara, but yeah, I don't see him as Morelli. Oh well.

STOP EVERYTHING! THEY ARE MAKING MOVIES? WHERE HAVE I BEEN? EXPAND!!!! (I'm totally team Morelli but I think that's because I secretly want Ranger.... though realistically I might just be Team!Threesome)

Yup. When Heigl showed up on the cover of EW a month ago or so that's when I found out that's why she went brunette.

I'm team Ranger because Ranger actually loves her for who she is, as opposed to Morelli who loves her despite who she is. But with O'Mara cast, I have little doubt I'll be team Morelli for the movie.

I genuinely love both relationships and men with Stephanie. But I think while Ranger loves Stephanie a lot, he wouldn't be able to give her the things she would want in her later life, at least not by the time she would need it. Ranger is the kind of guy who sweeps you off your feet and fills your stomach with butterflies and makes you imagine a happy ever after life. Morelli is the kind of guy that you live a life with for the long haul, the one who you have a real life with. Bickering over who takes out the trash and who walks the dog and who picks up the kids from school. Both are utterly fantastic, in the end I just kind of swing the way I think Stephanie might want later on. But I love their current set-up a lot. I love the handing off of Stephanie between the two. Always makes me laugh.
