He wasn't bad at all, in fact, he was great (per usual), it was just out of place, and by the end of the night, pretty much forgotten.
I'm so glad that I watched it before the Oscars. It was very good, and I'd completely forgotten about Ralph Fiennes (my favorite actor) having a small role.
Much as I loved The Hurt Locker, I would've given director to Bigelow (so I was very happy about that, for more than one reason), Screenplay to Up in the Air (I think I might be biased there though, or even to District 9), and film to Basterds (but the Academy will never award Tarantino, not likely anyway, no matter how brilliant his films are). I also would've given the statue to Firth over Bridges, much as I love The Dude (which is a lot).
Do not talk to me about Cinematography, however, lol. I'm still fuming.
I missed the opening and most of the ending and just saw bits and pieces but I'm thrilled for Kathryn and Sandra. It was particularly sweet to see Kathryn win sitting right in front of her douchebag of a husband Cameron. Hee!
Sandra looked gorgeous and so did Meryl (in a Chris March gown - go Chris!). Lots of pretty clothes this year.
I didn't see any of the dance segments but I'm not surprised at Kayla getting face time. Shankman directed after all.
He may be a douchebag, but they apparently have a great relationship and he's been saying over and over again that he thinks she should win. And he was very obviously enthusiastic when she did win.
Aww, I didn't realize that Meryl was wearing Chris again. Woohoo!! She must love him. Awesome.
The face-time of Kayla was ridiculous. And even more obvious, because the guy she danced with was wearing a hat so you couldn't see him. Plus, she was the only blonde.
I've read far too many things about James Cameron to change my opinion. The way he dumped his first two wives and the arrogant way he acted when Titanic was big . . . . . . . well to me he will always be a douchebag. I think he saw the way the wind was blowing and made nice. I would if I were on national tv.
Yes, Meryl used Chris again. So thrilled for him. He was bubbling over it on Tom and Lorenzo's website last night.
I wasn't able to watch the Oscars, but I'm glad to hear that The Hurt Locker and Katherine Bigelow both won. And you're right about Sandra Bullock, but I like her so much that I don't mind.
it was in the ep Sonambulist, the one where Angel kept havign this weird dreams about killing people and he thought he was doing it but it was one of his proteges...

I added Lords of Dogtown to my Netflix.
