Was there a theme for the night? I always wonder if the contestants have watched the show enough to know what mistakes not to make...

Ex: I only caught Katie's performance... but wouldn't a popular pop song have been a better choice at this stage in the game?

The theme was Billboard hits. I don't know why so many of them make such god-awful semi-final song choices. Seriously.

I liked Haeley, too -- she's got that "quality" about her that even when she misses the notes, I just want to root for her. :) I actually think she'll be safe because Simon tore her apart so much.

Was surprised by how much I liked Katelyn -- she stood out for me last night. :) Michelle, too -- even if it was a carbon copy of the original, Idols used to be able to do that and get away with it. Not in this Brave New David Cook/Kris Allen World, I guess. ;p

Objectively, I can see how Katie Stevens has a good voice, but she did NOT deserve the last spot, and the entitled...it BUGS. I'll take Crystal "doing this for a paycheck" Bowersox any day. :)

Eh, they weren't as changing-it-up folks as David and Kris, but the past winners didn't do carbon-copies either. Michelle did, and that bugs me a little. Put some of yourself into it, she didn't at all.

I think Haeley did good overall, Katie was definitely a wreck.

She has a fabulous voice; I do want to see her change it up next week, though. (Hah, I'm so sure she'll get through.)
