Thoughts on 24

Is anyone else bored by 24 this season? Like really bored. Or is it just me because I can NOT stand Renee and wish she would disappear forever? Not to say that her 'woe is my life' is the only thing boring to me. She's just the main reason I'm really thinking of walking away from 24 once and for all. So boring. Very little Chloe usage. Yeah. I didn't even watch last week's episode. I figure I'll marathon a few of them at once down the road, but not enough is happening on a weekly basis to make me want to watch as it airs.

I actually like the new season way better than the last one. But then again, I love Renee and the actress who is playing her. And I am also blinded by the fact that David Fucking Anders is in the new season!!! No matter where this man goes, I'll follow *g*

Well, last season wasn't that great, but I loved Larry Moss, and it kept me interested. This season? Meh. I like David Anders, but not like many who adore him (although, I get why people do). I dunno, although, I DO actually like the character of Renee, disliking the actress isn't helping. I feel like it's becoming the Jack and Renee show. And I just can't stand the actress, so that leads to not giving two craps about the character as played by the actress. *sigh*

I actually like Renee, but I can see what you're saying below about the overconcentration. Dana's storyline with her ex is the most egregious of the "random CTU-employee personal drama that no one cares about" storyline they've had over the years. And that's saying something. I fast-forward through all those scenes. I think this season could be better than it is. It's kind of meh. Not enough Chloe! And I feel like they could be doing more with the leader of Fakeistan.

Not enough Chloe and, yeah, I don't like Renee. So issues I'm having. :(

That's really sad because when it's good, it's amazing. So sad. Ah, if only they'd cast Katee as Renee last season.

We just caught up with 24 last night, and I am SO with you on Renee. The second ep was so Renee-centric, I almost stopped watching. :x It's that old soap opera trick of putting an unlikeable character in a horrific situation to generate instant-sympathy. And I did feel sorry for her, but I just...like I said, Jack/Renee is the ultimate in Big Brother/Little Sister pairings. I mean, there's a sibling protectiveness there, and if they just embraced that rather than going with the ridiculous (and borderline offensive) Jack-never-gave-her-the-time-of-day-last-season-but-NOW-she's-BSC-so-he-WUBS-her...blech. Makes both characters look particularly bad (though I do love Kiefer Sutherland in dorky "German" glasses ;p ( ... )

I'm so, so tired of Renee's angst. And I hate how the show is basically HER story, her journey, etc. and I'm like I DON'T CARE ABOUT RENEE! Unfortunately, we are in the minority, she's quite popular from what I've picked up from press and others around the interwebz.

Eh, I love Katee, and I'm not fastforwarding through the scenes, but it doesn't feel organic with the rest of the story. That's my issue with it. But I do love me some Katee Sackhoff, I just wish that they'd, God, I dunno, at this point. :Throws hands up:
